Biography of Bill Holland

Bill Holland is the founder and principal of R. William Holland Consulting, LLC (RWHC). RWHC specializes in human resource and career management and offers a variety of services and products to organizations and individuals looking to succeed in today’s turbulent work environment.

Bill also is the author of Are There Any Good Jobs Left? Career Management in the Age of the Disposable Worker (Praeger, August, 2006). The book is the first in a three-part series that will focus on managing careers in a job market that is both complicated and enhanced by globalization.

Prior to founding RWHC and publishing Are There Any Good Jobs Left, Bill was an Executive Vice President at Right Management, Inc., a global HR consulting and career transition Company. At Right, he was responsible for 60 offices, three franchise territories, and over $125 million in annual revenue.

Before joining Right, Bill held the position of Chief Human Resources Officer at Meridian Bank, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Business Process Outsourcing Division of Accenture.(Andersen Consulting) At Accenture, he led a global staff of professionals overseeing employee transition and transformation for more than 200 outsourcing engagements on five continents. He also has held senior HR positions at Chase Manhattan Bank, Charles Schwab, and PepsiCo.

Bill attended Michigan State University on a football scholarship and also received his Ph.D. in political science from MSU. As a graduate teaching assistant at MSU’s distinguished James Madison College, Bill received the University’s first Excellence-in-Teaching award. He went on to become a member of the teaching and research faculty at the University of California, Riverside.

He has served as a director on the boards of several organizations, including the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce. He is currently a founding member and Chairman of the Board of Directors of United Professionals, a not-for-profit advocacy group for under-employed and unemployed white collar workers. In addition, he is a frequent speaker on career management, globalization, and related topics.
